Acribond VST Acrylic Foam Tapes are made of Viscoelatic copolymers and polymers, some with a filler comprising of glass microspheres.
The product is extruded and the curing process is by ultra violet light.
Very thin foams can be produced form 0.25mm up to 3mm thick using the same process.
The foam is naturally tacky and has good adhesive properties. Certain grades have an additional adhesive coating.
Colours available: Grey, white and clear.
Standard liners: Red PE film and paper.

Overview: Acribond Tapes are high performance acrylic
foam tapes that offer superior performance and ease
of application over traditional and mechanical joining
and bonding systems.
Acribond's versatility and reliability make it possible to
eliminate rivets, nuts and bolts, welds and messy liquid
adhesives in a wide range of applications.
|
Versatility: Acribond is available ia a range of thicknesses,
from 0.5mm to 2.0mm thick, and in colours of white, grey
and transparent.
Seamless and invisible joins can be achieved by using a thin
clear tape (A4050), whilst thicker sizes (A3200), are able to
absorb vibration and compensate for thermal expansion and
mismatch in uneven surfaces of bonded materials.
|
Reliability: Acribond has been comprehensively trialled
and tested. In December 2000, and November 2005 the
C.S.I.R.O. tested Acribond to ASTM test methods, a test
designed to gauge the performance of structural silicones.
Acribond performed satisfactorily across a range of tests.
Results available on request. |
Durability: Acrylic is a very durable chemical material.
Accelerated ageing information demonstrates good
performance under harsh conditions,
(Florida/Arizona testing - about 100%
bond strength after 2 years).
A manufacturer's warranty applies to approved
applications of up to 25 years. |
Resistance: to water, humidity and solvents
Acribond offers excellent water and humidity resistance.
The foam softens with water, but maintains strong bond
indoors and out.
Acribond has excellent resistance to most solvents,
although solvent immersion is not recommended. |
Usage Requirement: As a rule of thumb, for a static load,
about 60 sq cms of tape is required for every 1 kg of weight.
Customers are advised to evaluate all aspects of the
application, and conduct suitable testing.
Samples are available.
