Rewinding and Slitting
At Husky Tape we convert many of our tapes in
house, from jumbo rolls to log rolls to single rolls.
The Acribond VST Acrylic Foam Tapes are
imported in log rolls, but can be rewound to
shorter lengths if required.
Minimum order quantities would apply.
We suggest lathe slitting as the recommended
method for slitting Acribond Tapes, giving clean cut edges, and the fastest
and best results with minimal wastage.
Slit rewinding is not recommended, due to the elongation of the foam and difficulty
in getting the correct tension.
Precise slitting tolerances can be achieved, and slit rolls from 4mm wide are possible in
all grades.
Die-Cutting
Die-cut pieces help reduce wastage, and speed up production times.
Precise and fairly complex die-cut shapes and gaskets can be produced from all grades
of Acribond VST Tapes.
Butt-cut die-cuts are not recommended for acrylic foams, due to the viscoelastic and
flow characteristic nature of the foam. Acrylic foam fuses to itself and becomes a
homogenous mass, and the die-cut pads cannot easily be separated.
Die-cut shapes can be produced with a minimum gap of 3mm all around.
This means the waste has to be stripped out, or removed.
Acribond VST Tapes can be supplied with paper liners for die-cutting, the paper liners
are high quality, and ideal for rotary and flat bed die-cutting.
