Installation Instructions
Ensure that the surfaces to be bonded are completely free from dust and grease.
The surfaces to be bonded should be dry and free from any loose particles.
For cleaning instructions, please refer to the Application Guide.
To attain optimum bond strength, sufficient pressure should be applied to the surface areas to be bonded.
The adhesive is pressure sensitive, and best results are achieved with maximum surface area contact under pressure.
to ensure good adhesive 'wet out', typical pressure applied should be approximately 15psi, or 100kpa.
Avoid significant load bearing to the bond directly after application. Recommended application temperature is between
+20 and +36 degrees C. Minimum application temperatures should not be below +10 degrees C., except for Acribond VST A3000 Series Acrylic Foam Tapes.
Troubleshooting
Thinner tapes cannot make adequate surface contact with rigid materials, uneven or embossed surfaces.
Semi-flexible materials with memory need thicker tape to distribute stress. Typically, full bond strength is not reached until after 72 hours, (90% at 24 hours and 50% at 20 minutes, under normal temperature conditions with good roll out pressure applied). Surface pressure and moderate heat speed up bond time. Cold temperatures delays bond build time.

Why Didn't It Stick?
Preparation is vital. If we don't prepare the surfaces well, we won't get ultimate bond strength. Most surfaces only need minimal preparation to ensure they are clean, perhaps a wipe with a solvent (such as Acribond Prep), or an abrasion rub to remove rust or surface contaminants before cleaning.
Another important consideration is not just the right tape for the job, but the right amount of tape, considering the weight and shape of the product, and load forces. Also, some materials have alow surface energy which can repel rather than attract at a molecular level, like a polished car repels water. These surfaces need special adhesives and preparation.
